Collection: battle of the BB cream & Cover & go foundation. Who wins?

Collection: battle of the BB cream & Cover & go foundation. Who wins?

Hiya ladies, I hope you are all well?

I was in Wilkinsons and saw that a few of the Collection make up items were on offer. Whilst buying some other items I decided to try the foundation as well as the BB cream and to pit them against each other. I wondered  which I would prefer and would buy again. So, here goes.
This applied really easily with my Real Techniques buffing brush and blended well. However, it stung my eye's like crazy and left me with irritated eyes for the rest of the weekend though I do have sensitive eyes to begin with. So, for that reason alone, I will definitely not be repurchasing. However, I did keep it on so that I could give an honest review on it. The coverage is sheer to light and does give a beautiful glow to the skin, though it did not last til 12pm, it could be used as a base. The shade selection was not the greatest I am sorry to say. Even if it did not sting my eyes, I definitely would not recommend this at all. It isn't the worst bb cream I have tried, it just isn't the best.
This applied really well with my RT buffing brush and also blended really well. This did not sting my eyes, so I was extra happy with that. The coverage is light to medium and covers really well. I thought it gave a lovely glow but not an in your face glow where you look as though you have been assaulted with the glow stick. It lasted until I took it off after 8pm, though there was some fading but nothing drastic. I did have to touch up with powder as the glow got a little excessive towards mid afternoon but nothing too stressful. The shade selection also was not great, pretty much the same as the bb cream. There is a bonus to this, in the fact that there is a concealer in the lid. Bonus. The concealer is a light coverage concealer though it does cover small blemishes and faint discolourations and I did have to use a seperate concealer for the dark circles under my eyes. I would definitely repurchase this foundation in the future if it has not been discontinued which I fear it might be.

It is that time where I have to say goodbye. Just remember that life is short, enjoy it and love one another.

Until the next time,
Ta Ta for now.

fragrance direct haul

Hello my beautiful ladies, how are you?
I hope you are all feeling OK?

Today I thought I would share with you are recent fragrance direct haul for yet more sexy nail polish.
I think you have already got it worked out that I have a few addictions and 1 of them being nail polish.
Fragrance direct is a wonderful enabler of this addiction, they have wonderful customer service, easy to purchase from and have a wide range of beauty products that I am pretty sure that everyone could easily find something they would want to own.
But I digress, FD have OPI, Orly, Essie, Revlon, Sally Hansen nail polishes etc at heavily discounted prices. If there are nail polishes that you missed out on form a LTD edition release, there is more than a slight chance that they will be there. I love FD and will continue to recommend them, they are brilliant.

Urban Decay Naked Smoky (where does it come in my favourites)

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all feeling wonderful today?
Today I thought I would share with you the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette, I finally went and got the little beauty. Everytime I saw this little bugger before it came out, I kept changing my mind on whether I liked it or not. I needed to see it in person and boy, when I did, it was mine.
Urban Decay always pull me in on the Naked palettes, there is just something about them that make me go all funny inside.I do own all of them and I am pretty happy with every single 1 of them, having said that, my least favourite is the Naked 2, don't get me wrong, it is beautiful and I do use it but, I do have to bring in another palette to use with it as for me anyway, it doesn't have enough lid or transition shades, the rest are crease or outer v shades.
My personal favourite is the Naked 3 as it is just so versatile, I love it and will have no issues in repurchasing it when I finally hit pan (which is not for off I can tell you), 2nd is the original bad girl herself, Naked 1. Naked 1 is beautiful and even now, I can't understand why it took over 4 years for me to get it, it is 1 of the best palettes out there. Next are the Naked Basics 1 &2 though the 2nd one comes out on top (I've nearly hit pan on that already) as I can get so many basic looks out of it on its own, its amazing. The Naked Basics 1 is what I mainly use with Naked 2, it just works.
Now, Naked Smoky (everytime I type that, or say it, I can hear Jim Carey from the Mask) is just beautiful and I have to admit, I wasn't sure how many of the eyeshadows I would be able to use when I first saw it even though I knew for certain I would use every single 1 of those sexy little mattes. Now that I have used it a few times, I find myself falling deeper and deeper in love with it.
The shades do look a little similar to all the naked palettes and if you don't have any of the Naked palettes, I would say go for this 1 as it has pretty much everything you would need. Having said that, if you are a naked lover, this is 1 that you will NEED for your collection and you will love it just for that reason.
I love the layout of this better than any of the other palettes, the way it is set out is amazing, the first 4 are glittery shades (but not crazy glittery by UD standards), satins and then the mattes.
They are just amazing to work with, they blend beautifully even though they are a little powdery, there is very little fallout. You can create so many looks with this palette from beautiful daytime looks to no make up make up looks to smoky to full on dramatic. This palette can be as full on or as subtle as you want it to be. Pure lust from me.
Have you invested in the Naked smoky?
Or are you still on the fence?
Do you have a favourite out of all the naked palettes?
I would love to hear from you and any recommendations you think I would enjoy.

It is that time where I have to say goodbye. Just remember that life is short, enjoy it and love one another.

Until the next time,
Ta Ta for now.

NOTD: NYC 922 No flash lights & 276 Big City Dazzle & Technic Ice Cream Ella

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all keeping well?

Today I thought I would share with my thoughts on these stunning little polishes. 2x NYC polishes in hte shades no flash lights and big city dazzle and Technic nail polish in the shade ice cream ella.
I have to say that I am equally impressed with both NYC polishes, they surprised the heck out of me. They are such a lovely formula that I have since bought a heck of a lot more of the NYC polishes from Pooundworld where they are 3 to a bag atm which is crazy as they are cheap as chips to begin with.
The no flash lights polish is opaque in 2 coats, lasted3 days on my nails withought chipping, a little streaking on the first coat but was easily sorted out on the 2nd coat. Big city dazzle is a subtle but stunning multi coloured shimmery top coat and was not lumpy or sticky in the slightest. Love it.
Technic ice ream ella is just a beautiful top coat that I have used many times since this notd. It is ust beautiful. Love it.

Stila All Over Shimmer Luminiser in Kitten Shimmer

Hello ladies, I hope you are all well.
I have got another review for you gorgeous ladies and it is the Stila all over shimmer Luminiser in Kitten shimmer.
I don't think this is available anymore as it isn't on the Stila website though I have seen it knocking about on ebay.
I wouldn't personally spend over a £15 (unless it is absolutely amazing) on a highlighter as I think you can get drugstore ones that are just as good. Having said that, I must admit that this truly is absolutely beautiful and I am enjoying the gorgeous glow it gives me. It is also a massive bottle and is almost the same size as my hand, it will last a long, long time.

The "glow" that it gives me, makes me feel as though my skin is healthy even on those days when it certainly is far from being in great condition.
So for now, I will love you and leave you.
Have fun and don't do anything I wouldn't do.

It is that time where I have to say goodbye. Just remember that life is short, enjoy it and love one another.

Until the next time,

Fragrance Direct Haul: Blush overload

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all OK?

Today I thought I would share with  you a recent order from a favourite online shop of mine: Fragrance Direct. Just the sheer amount of pretties on there is astounding. I love it.
I bought a few (more than a few in all honesty) blushers as that is my favourite thing at the moment, it perks up my yellow under toned skin and makes me look a fresh as a daisy.
So, without further ado, on with what I purchased?
I do love my MAC blushers and when I saw that MAC was on there I did have to get a couple didn't I? I know, naughty. I bought pinch me, breathe of plum and I did get a lipstick too which is in the shade angel (I have had this before and is a repurchase for me).
I also bought 5 of the Fashionista blushers for 50p each (bargain central or what) in shades cinnamon, blushing, amber glow, butterscoth and blushing coral. I have to say that I wasn't holding out much hope for them with being so cheap, having said that, I have used a couple of them and they are super pigmented, long lasting and just amazing to work with.
I also bought the Bourgios eye pearls in the shade 62 illusion. I have tried these and I am not that impressed with them, to be fair, they do create a pretty look but I think that there are better, cheaper alternatives out there.
That is what I purchased last month, (there were a couple of other bits that I bought but more on that at a later date.) from fragrance Direct. Have you purchased from fragrance direct? I would love to hear from you.

It is that time where I have to say goodbye. Just remember that life is short, enjoy it and love one another.

Until the next time,

Blogger Tag: Would You Rather?

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all well?

Today, I am going to be doing my first ever beauty tag that has been set by Beauty Crowd.
These are the questions set by Beauty Crowd on their blog here.
1. Would you rather be able to apply eyeliner perfectly or be able to contour like Kim Kardashian?
In all honesty, I rarely use eyeliner or contour, but if I could, I would definitely want to be able to do the perfect eyeliner.
2. Would you rather wear foundation which is two shades lighter or two shades darker?
I would rather wear foundation that is 2 shades lighter as there are many more options to perk up your feature's with blush and bronzer.
3. Would you rather wear no lipstick ever again or no eyeliner ever again?
This 1 is easy for me as I'm a self confessed lipstick addict, always will choose lipsticks.
4. Would you rather give up your foundation or your mascara?
I would rather give up my foundation as I have quite small eyes, the mascara helps to open them up and I think I have quite good skin.
5. Would you rather apply your makeup yourself with no mirror whilst on a bumpy car journey or ask a 5 year old child to do it?
My 6 year old little girl has previously done my make up before and its not pretty lol. I think I would rather do my make up while on the bumpy road I can always blend, blend, blend.
6. Would you rather wear exactly the same makeup every single day for the rest of your life or drastically change your makeup every single day for the rest of your life (even if it doesn’t suit you!)?
I think for this 1 I would rather wear the same make up everyday for the rest of my life as it could be difficult for me to do drastic make up as it just scares me, especially everyday.
7. Would rather have dodgy brows or have patchy fake tan?
This is also another easy 1 for me as I just don't do self tan, its not my thing and I already have dodgy eyebrows, so win win for me hehehe.
8. Would you rather have perfectly white teeth or have your perfect hairstyle?
I would rather have perfect white teeth as your teeth are extremely important.
9. Would you rather wear the same colour nail varnish for the rest of your life or be able to change the colours of your varnish whenever you like but it’s always a little bit smudged?
Oh I would rather change my nail polish everyday and it be smudged as that is usually how they look anyway. I am terrible at doing my nails
10. Would you rather have lots of scented body and perfume products that smell amazing to you but to everyone else you smell like pine tree car air freshener or have products that smell average to you but smell incredible to those around you?
I would rather have scented products that smell average to me and smell incredible to others. Smelling nice is a good thing ;)

It is that time where I have to say goodbye. Just remember that life is short, enjoy it and love one another.

Until the next time,
Ta Ta for now.

NOTD: Darling Diva: Purple Rain

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all doing OK?

Today I thought I would share a stunning nail polish from an Indie brand: Darling Diva in the shade Purple Rain. Seriously 1 of the most beautiful shades I own.
I have to say that I haven't wore nail polish for a few weeks because of the kiddie winks being off school, I am slowly getting back in the routine of trying out a variety of new make up and polishes instead of the go to 5 minute make up and bare nails.
This darling diva polish is the 2nd in a long line of polish that I have got to try out and see if they will stay in my main collection. This little beauty more than makes it in the main collection, it is in my favourites drawer with the lies or Orly Fowl Play, Opi black cherry chutney, Revlon scented polishes (all of those buggers). I just love this gorgeous polish so much.
It is opaque in 2 coats, lasts 4 days on my nails (and that is a big deal as most polishes  chip & peel after an hour to 1 day. Nuts isn't it?). I highly recommend you trying this little beauty if you can get your sexy little mitts on it. Amazing.

It is that time where I have to say goodbye. Just remember that life is short, enjoy it and love one another.

Until the next time,

Decluttering

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all doing OK?

I thought I would share with you something a little different for me, a decluttering post.
Every 3-6 months, I literally go through all of my make up, nail polish, clothes and beauty items to see what there are that I don't use for whatever reasons.
In this particular post I will just focus on the make up and nail polish that I am either giving to a friend or just plain old fashioned binning and I will explain why I will be binning some of the items in a minute.
In the first picture is  just to show you what I will be getting rid of in one form or another, I know it looks like a lot but please bare in mind that I do have alot of beauty items from swaps, sales, hauls & samples that take up a lot of room that I just do not have. So, things that I don't use have to go in one way or another.
In the 2nd picture are items that I am passing on to family and friends as for 1 reason or another, these items, do not work for me eg the Loreal mascara (unopened) is a glitter mascara and that is something that does not appeal to me and it did come as GWP (gift with purchase), the estee Lauder nail polish is too pale for me and does not suit me so will pass that on to a lovely lass I know. There are lip products there that are sadly either too dark, too bright or just too pale. The lip liner is a brown that does not suit me, the baked shimmer palette has too much glitter in it and the Rimmel matte powder is too drying for my skin and these are things that work for family members and a couple of my friends, so win win for everyone.
In the 3rd picture are items that I am sadly going to have to put in the bin (please don't shout at me, there are good reasons for it).
The New Cid wardrobe palette I have been trying for the past year to make it work for me but I genuinely hate this palette, it is 1 of the worst I have ever had the misfortune to use (full review here)  The Pure tinted under eye roll on didn't work for me as it was too thin and too dark, because it is for eyes, I would never dream of passing it on because it can cause eye infections and no one wants to risk that.
All of the nail polishes are sadly either dried out or too gloopy of a formula to use and no matter what I tried I could not fix the problem (review of Glitter Babies angels here). I was seriously gutted about these but luckily, there were are fair few that made up for it and the lady I purchased them from sent a fair few extras anyway, so it wasn't too much of  a heartbreak to bin this little lot.
Make Up Revolution make up primer is being put in the bin because no matter how much I tried, it just did not work for me and to be fair, there was not that much product in there to start with. A first disappointment form MUR for me but that has not put me off as they have so many other wonderful products that they are allowed to not be 100% perfect.
What do you think? DO you regularly declutter your beauty items?
I love doing this as it is really cathartic and peace inducing for me.
I can't stand having a large collection and prefer to let things go than have a hoarding situation going on.

It is that time where I say goodbye. Just remember that life is short, enjoy it and love one another.

Until the next time,
Ta Ta for now.
