TK Maxx Haul

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all doing well?

Today I thought I would share with you a few nail polishes I picked up from TK Maxx, the old faithful that is guaranteed to make me smile.
For me, TK Maxx is the shop to drown my sorrows in when I am feeling a little low as I am guaranteed to find some beautiful nail polishes and make up for amazing prices. I love TK's for the sheer fact that it really is a little bit of a treasure trove and you never know what you are going to find from 1 visit to the next. So, what did I find today?
Oh boy, did I find some pretties that literally I have been drooling over since seeing them. The Leighton Denny I have been seeing for the past few weeks in the clearance section of my local TK's but the bottle was in such a state that I just could not bring myself to purchase it. Today I finally found the only other clean "It's so me" and it was coming home with me to be a part of my much loved collection.
I also bought 2 Nars nail polishes in the shades "algonquin" and "purple rain" and they are both just so beautiful that they definitely had to go into my basket. Now the Elizabeth Arden nail polish I had been seeing for a good while and never really took a peek to see what it was like but for some reason, today I did and wow, it was stunning. "Teal Blossom" is my kind of colour that I love to wear in the warmer months and then to bling up nearer to Christmas time (I know that dreaded word heheheh).
Have you tried any of the above nail polishes? What are your thoughts and are there any recommendations that you think I might enjoy?

It is that time where I say goodbye,
just remember that life is short,
enjoy it and love one another.
Until the next time,

Loving & Loathing feat Estee Lauder & Rimmel BB Creams

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all feeling well?
Today I thought I would do something a little different and do a loving or loathing any make up or beauty product that I have been using over the past few weeks or months.
Today I have decided to start with BB  creams from Rimmel and Estee Lauder. Before you start thinking, woah that isn't exactly fair is it? I would like you to think about this? Is it really fair to put an expensive product up against a cheaper version or something similar? Well I think ye it is as I really don't believe in you get what you pay for as I really don't think that is necassarily true.
I love all things beauty and love both high end and cheaper alternatives and I will admit that I do have more higher end bits but that is because I genuinely love them.
I also have to say that I do regular decluttering and I am always ruthless with my rule of thumb being if I havent used it in the past 6 months to a year, then it is going to a friend or family or even the bin if it has been used too much or expired (which rarely happens with me t0 be fair).

So what do I actually think of each product?

Rimmel Matte BB Cream in light £6..99 here: I seriously think this is amazing, it literally helps to keep my oily t zone matte with no fading whatsoever, which is a big deal for me especially now that I am older. It is so easy to blend, the shade is a perfect match and it lasts from 7am to 10/11pm when I get around to taking my make up off. I love it so much that I have bought another 1 even though this is just over half used.

Estee Lauder BB Cream in Light £34 here: In the winter is the only time that I can get away with wearing this as my skin is leans towards more normal/dry than combination. Having said that, it really isn't my favourite by a long shot and I haate to wear it when it is vaguely warm as it disappears within the hour on me. It literally leaves me looking like a hot sweaty mess in warm weather even with a great mattifying powder. In the cold months it is moisturising and lasts a little over 4 hours without primer and not much longer with primer. I really would not recommend this to anyone with oily/combination skin at all in any weather.

I highly recommend the Rimmel bb cream over the Estee Lauder bb cream without hesitation and then when you think of the difference in price, why is the EL not better? Don't get me wrong, I love the EL doublewear light ( you will see that pitted against another Rimmel foundation soon) and have nearly finished the bottle with me also now having purchased a back up of it. I just cannot recommend the EL bb cream Sorry.

Have you tried either of the BB creams that I have talked about today? Did you like or loathe either of them and do you have any recommendations?

NOTD: China Glaze Orange Knockout.

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all well?

Today I thought I would share with you what I am wearing on my nails: China Glaze orange knockout from the 2008 neon collection.
This is 1 of those polishes that scare the bejesus out of me because of just how bright it is and I always go for more natural or full on vampy shades but this, wow, terrifying.
Now that I am wearing it and have previously tried another neon orange shade (and liked it) I thought I would get more wear out of the brighter shades in the spring/summer months (who am I kidding? We just get Autum/winter weather here lol)and see how it goes.
I really did enjoy wearing this but for me, it is still way too bright for my fingers and will only be wearing this polish on my toes. Though the formula is better than Pool Party I can still see my nail beds under the polish after 3 coats and to make matters worse, it dries down matte and even with a glossy top coat on top you can still see how matte it actually is.

Have you tried the polishes from China Glaze? What are your thoughts and do you have any recommendations for me to try?

Naked Basics 1&2 dupes featuring W7 In the City & In the Mood

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all feeling well?

Today I thought I would share with you my thoughts on the W7 In the mood and the In the city palettes that are meant to be a dupe of the Urban Decay Naked 1&2 palettes.
I love to try pretty much everything from W7 because for such a budget based brand, the quality is usually pretty high and for the price that you pay, it really is astounding how they do it.
The formula and pigmentation is just outstanding, the black in the In the Mood palette just wowed me, it was jet black with just the slightest touch to it. Having said that there was a little fall out with a couple of the shadows but you can find that in high end shadows too so not a big deal really.
They feel so soft to the touch and blend so beautifully, I had no issues with any of the shadows and love using them on a regular basis. Don't get me wrong, they won't replace my UD palettes as they have  something a little extra special about them but that won't take anything away from how brilliant the W7 palettes are. I love them and will be purchasing more palettes as and when they get released (well, if I like the look of them anyway).

Do I think it is a full on dupe? Not exactly but they are very close, the UD palette is by far the better of them though that will  not take away how amazing the W7 palettes are and I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone. Both palettes are avaiable here and here if you would like to try them for yourselves.

NOTD Feat China Glaze Pool Party

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all keeping well?

Today I thought I would share with you what I am wearing on my nails from China Glaze: Pool Party. Pool party is from a mini set that a friend kindly sent me recently with a couple of pretties that she was kind enough to visit Sally's to purchase a couple of pretties.
I have to admit to being a little apprehensive about wearing this as am not the biggest fan of neon polishes but I knew  I was going to have to bite the bullet and put it on at least once to get over the shock of it. I now have to say that I was surprised when I actually liked it, I couldn't stop looking at my nails, I know, crazy huh?
The formula, for me anyway, is a little on the sheer side, the pictures are showing an application of 3 coats and I can still see my nail bed through the polish. I am not a fan of sheer nail polish on my fingers so, again for me, this will be relegated to my toe nails in the future when we finally get some decent sunshine.
Have you tried pool party by China Glaze? Are there any shades that you think I would like?

Beauty Bloggers Lovers Tag

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all well?

I know I have been quiete over the past couple of months and I am very sorry about that but my life has been extremely hectic over the past couple of months. I have been struggling to get any time to do any blogging and when I have it has just been a couple of sentences or just managing to get pictures taken. Things will be slowing down soon and I will be getting back to good old fashioned hauls, reviews and NOTD's.
I hope for now, that a few tag posts will be OK as they can be a little easier to write up and get out for you so that you know that I am at least thinking of you guys.

1) Which beauty blogger would like to do your make up?
I think I would choose Fluer De Force, Tanya Burr, Pixiwoo and Budget Beauty for this as their make up always looks amazing and how can I not want any of those gorgeous ladies to do my make up? It would be a complete honour and a privilage.

2) Which beauty blogger would you want to be your best friend?
I love Becca Rose, her personality just shines through, I also love Budget Beauty, she is always honest in her reviews and I love how she just rambles.Again Fluer De Force has a quiete personality that shines with an honesty that shines through.

3) Which beauty blogger would have a secret affair with?
Erm I don't think I would to be fair, I don't believe in affairs.

4) Which beauty blogger would you like to go on a shopping spree with?
Oh dear, that would be the lovely Nicknak1171, as she is amazing and funny.

5) Which beauty blogger could convince you not to buy something that you hae always wanted?
Miss Budget Beauty, I always watch her videos as I know that she will have a very honest review if she has tried the product.

6) Which beauty blogger's stash would you want to transplant into your room?
I don't know really as I am quite happy with my own though I would love to have a good old rummage through the Pixiwoo sisters make up, that would be amazing.

7) What are the top 3 items a beauty bogger has talked you into buying?
Estee Lauder Doublewear light, Urban Decay Naked palette and Urban Decay Gewn Stefani palette and I love every single 1 of them.

8) What are the top 3 items that a beauty blogger has talked you out of buying?
Urban Decays Alice in Wonderland palette, Mac Soft & Gentle highlighter and Mac foundations.

foundation tag

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all keeping well?

Today I thought I would share with you a tag that I have seen doing the rounds for a while now and thought I would pop on the band wagon as for me anyway, foundation can be a hit & miss and can make or break how you make up turns out.

1 Best packaging?
I think for me that would have to be my Estee Lauder doublewear light as it is just simple, sleek, slim and doesn't stand out too much which is something that I like in my packaging.

2 Best colour payoff?
I assume that this means the pigmentation and if that is the case, I again would have to say the EL Doublewear, it is very forgiving and can be built up beautifully. Though it isn't full coverage it gives a decent amount of coverage.

3 Most versatile/ buildable?
Again that would have to be my EL doublewear foundation. (I swear this isnt going to be a review post hehehe).

4 Best for travel?
Oh dear, again it is going to be the EL doublewear. I am sorry about this :(

5 Biggest regret?
That would have to be my Urban Decay Naked foundation and not for the reason you would think, I was wrongly hade matched and bought it there and then but when i got it home it was just too dark for me. Don't get me wrong, it is a phenominal foundation as I tried it anyway a fair few times to see what I felt about it and it really is a great foundation that will be bought again in the future.

6 Best colour names?
Erm intensity 2.0 lol.

7 Least used?
That would have to be a Rimmel foundation and that is only because it is a shade too dark and can only use it when I have some colour on my face. If I don't like a foundation for whatever reason, I pass it on to a friend for her to try.

8 Most loved/used?
This is easy and I think that you can guess what I am going to say, the EL doublewear foundation, it really is amazing. I do like the original doublewear but find that it is too heavy for me for everyday so I tried the light version and fell in love with it after a couple of decades trying to find the ONE and I pretty much love it and recommend it to anyone and everyone to try.

Nail Haul

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all keeping well?

Today I thought I would quickly show you some beautiful nail polishes that I purchased from Facebook nail group and ebay.

I don't like to share the prices I paid for nail polishes from the Facebook groups as I find that to be a little unfair to the ladies I purchase from though I will say is that I was very grateful to the lady for the chance to purchase the gorgeous Zoya polishes as I know they can be a tad hard to find in the UK.
As for the China Glaze polishes, I always find them on ebay from here for varying prices. I do like to check back on a regular basis to see what new polishes have arrived. I am never disappointed and highly recommend the lovely lady who owns the shop.

Leighton Denny TSV

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all feeling well?

Today I thought I would share with you the recent QVC UK TSV by Leighton Denny that I have literally just received and can't wait to share with you.
When I received the email to tell me that Leighton Denny was doing a TSV I had to check it out as I hoped that my favourite repair system would be a part of it but sadly, it wasn't to be. Having said that, when I saw what was in the TSV I knew I was going to purchase it as I completely fell in love with everything.
If you would like to purchase this set of loveliness it is available still for a brilliant price of £36.50 at QVC UK here. It really is worth it as the polishes alone cost £11 each, so not bad at all really.
Have you tried any of the Leighton Denny polishes? Have you purchased anything from QVC?
