Battle Of The Urban Decay Naked 2 Dupes Feat Make Up Revolution

Well hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all keeping well
Well, what do you know?
It is that time again where I put a sexy little palette from a budget brand up against the might of Urban Decays Naked 2 palette. Today is, last but certainly no means least, Make up Revolution's Iconic 2 and you can get that here for £4.
Iconic 1 did really well with just missing out by 0.5 a point behind MUA Undressed and you can see that here and here. So, can it beat MUA this time round? Well... I think we should find outdon't you?

Dupability: Iconic 2 is not 100% a dupe though having said that, there are some that are pretty darned close and even a couple that are spot on. For me this particular baby, wins hands down in the dupability section. 4/5

Formula: Oh boy has the formula changed, for the better I might add. They are super soft and buttery, not too shabby at all. 5/5

Pigmentation: Now the pigmentation again, was not 100% but did do itself proud. There were some that I struggled to get any colour pay off and then there were the ones that nearly outshone the UD. Nw that is good 4/5

Wear-time: Without primer, these eyeshadows lasted a good 5 hours and over 8 hours with primer. I would say that is some blooming good wear time. 4.5/5

Ease of purchase: This little baby is now readily available online and in Superdrug, n o issues in urchasing this palette. 5/5

Packaging: Even though I think the W7 packaging looks better, I think the Iconic 2 packaging has more strength and stability to it. For me, this wins hands down 5/5

Value: The price point on this little number is worth more than £4, I would more than happily pay more for it. 5/5

Quality: The quality has greatly improved since Iconic 2 which is strange as they were both released at exactly the same time. 5/5

Overall score:  Overall, I think the Iconic 2 has completely outshone both the W7 In the Buff palette and my most repurchased MUA Undressed too palette? 37.5/40

So there you have it, the winner by a clear mile is the Make Up Revolution Iconic 2 palette. Do I think I would buy it over UD Naked 2? No but it really is a blooming good palette, just phenomenal. Impressed is understating it for me. The Iconic 2 will be going in the giveaway box (obviously a new 1) and I will look forward to pitting MUA, MUR & W7 up against each other for the title of Queen of the Urban Decay Naked 3 dupes.

June Empties

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all feeling well?

Today I thought I would share with you this months empties and let you know what I have been loving, hating or feeling just plain old meh. I do like to write these out as I get to review a fair few items in 1 go, whether its love or hate, I ave to love the fact I can get my thoughts out there whether just 1 person or 100 people read this I am more than OK with that. Anyway, enough of my rambling and on with the show :D

Wilkos Skin Therapy face wipes: I love these bad boys, they get my make up off (even waterproof mascara) with just 1 wipe, no need for 2. I use all of them for different times of the month and love all of them. For 50p each, I can't recommend these highly enough. WBA
Poundland multi purpose wipes: I bought these form the poundshop, there are 3 in the packet for £1. They are handy to have in your handbag, especially if you have little ones or a dog. Love them. WBA

Creightons Brunette hair treatment: Oh boy was this terrible. It left my hair dryer than it started out and that, is saying something. It did nothing for my hair. WNBA
Batiste Dry shampoo for red hair: The dry shampoo part of this is amazing and can't recommend highly enough, however, the red part is terrible. It dyed anything and everything it came into contact with, even after brushing it out.  WNBA
V05 Cherish my colour conditioner: This is just an OK conditioner, it didn't soften my hair it only helped to dry out my hair more. Also, it is supposed to help the hair colour last longer but helped to strip it out. WNBA

Classics nail polish remover: This is an OK polish remover and for 59p from Home Bargains, I think it does the job well for the price. WBA
Johnsons Baby powder: I love this so much, it feels amazing on the skin and my little girl Bethany loves it too after her baths. WBA
Umberto Gianni  Rock N Roll hairspray: I did like this alot but the spray didn't last very long and for that reason I WNBA.

This Works sleep balm: Holy crap this stuff stinks something terrible, so much so that I had to wash it off. When it came for me to try it again, it had dried out. Happy that I don't have to try it out again. WNBA
Aldi Restorative Serum: Blooming love this stuff. It really is amazing. My skin loves this, especially on a night when I wear it with my night cream, my skin feels so soft in the morning. WBA
Garnier Miscellar water: Another blooming love this stuff product. I have had this particular bottle for over 4 months and I have only just used it up. It is so gentle on the skin and removes everything. WBA and I have a back up of my back up.
W7 eye cream: At first I wasn't sure on this as the cream was not really a cream, more of a hard creamy balm (if that makes sense), when I figured the best way to use it, my eyes were very thankful for the perseverance. Love it and WBA.
Olay anti-wrinkle moisturiser: This was just OK, it wasn't anything special and my skin didn't hate it either. WNBA though as there are much better moisturisers out there for me.

Urban Decay Deslick setting spray: I love this baby, it helps to set my make up, is refreshing and my make up lasts forever when I use this baby. WBA and already have.
MUA Undress your skin undereye concealer in Radiance: Holy crap, this thing is just a full on glitter ball party but not in a good way. I have used the normal version of this and that is what I thought i purchased.Yikes, never again in a million years would U buy the radiance 1 again. WNBA.
No7 Lip Crayon Delicate pink: Oh baby is this just lovely, love it so much that I went out and bought the full size. WBA
Carmex Jasmine green tea lip balm: This is terrible, it burned my lips something awful. WNBA ever.
Beauty UK CC cream: This is just too thick for my liking, it did not colour correct and it clung to dry patches. Not my cup of tea. WNBA

Lush Brazilliant Shampoo bar: Weirdly, I bought this on the back of another 1 I have for my daughter (that 1 is brilliant) however, this 1 doesn't work as well for me  and is just OK for my daughter. I do, however, think these are phenomenal value and WBA another shampoo bar as they last forever.
Lush Star bath melt: This was lovely and my daughter wants me to get more of this bad boy when the others run out. WBA
Rainforest scented wax melts: A friend brought some of these little beauties up for me to try as she knows I have a little bit of an obsession for Yankee Candle wax tarts. This little beauty smells divine, I closed my eyes and felt as though I was walking in the woods near me when it has just been raining, you know that smell? WBA as I just love this little beauty.

Ted Baked Bath Foam: This is a very meh bubble bath for m, it smelled nice and gave off a small amount of bubbles. It didn't last very long fro the size of the bottle and the price was ridiculous, I bought it in the sale for £8, definately not worth that price let alone anything higher. WNBA
Lynx Attract shower gel for her: This is just lovely, smells divine and a little goes a long way. WBA with no issues.
Philosophy gingerbread girl shower gel: This was another little beauty that felt as though it would not end, I had this shower gel on the go for nearly 3 months, you really only need a small amount of this. And the smell, did I mention the smell? Gorgeous. WBA for the smell alone :D
Lush Angel Delight soap: Oh my, this is yet another beauty that smells divine. Love it and WBA.

What did you think? Have you tried any of the products and have you liked them?

NOTD: Orly Ruby

Hello my lovelies,
how are you?
I hope you are all keeping well.

I thought I would share with you my thoughts on Orly's Ruby nail polish and whether I thought it was worth the purchase from Fragrance Direct here. I am a tad biased as I have a love/love relationship with Orly and have yet to try 1 that I don't like, so, is this going to be that polish that tips the balance?

I have to say straight off that the picture's really do not do this polish any justice at all, it is more a red wine shade and no matter how much I tried, the colour would not come up true to it's natural beauty. It is opaque in 2 coats and sets beautifully.  The formula is perfect, not too runny and not too thick, just perfect. The brush is wide enough to your nail in 1 swipe though for me, that is a tad dangerous as I am a mucky pup. The colour is just stunning and it is amongst 1 of my favourites. So, yes, this is well worth the £1.99 it costs at FD but when this is no longer available there, would I pay the £10.50 that it asks for on Nail Polish UK? Hell yes, I love it that much.

Loving MAC? Or am I losing my love?

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all OK and doing well?

I don't know if I am still feeling the unadulterated love I used to have for MAC but for now, the thing that is making me so disillusioned and not sure if I want to buy anything else from them are the limited editions.

Because of the sheer volume of Limited editions that are coming out, other companies have started to jump on the band wagon and it is driving me mad. I completely understand about the business side, about making money but making money shouldn't mean that the quality suffers, especially as the price goes up on LTD edition items. Again, where is the sense in that?

There are so many reasons to dislike LTD editions, a small amount are available, the price hikes, re promotes, putting permanent line products in as part of the ltd editions (eg a Disney eyeshadow palette had only 1 eyeshadow that was new, the rest were permanents), lack of quality, the list goes on.

Stop being a money making machine and get back to listening and caring about your customers. I want to love you again. I want to give you my money for seriously amazing make up. Come on, make me fall in love with you again x

It is that time where I say goodbye, just remember that life is short, enjoy it and love one another.
Until the next time

Make Up Revolution HAUL

Hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all feeling well?

Today I thought I would share with you a haul from early May that I plain and simple forgot to upload the pictures to my laptop. My memory is terrible.
As you know, I have a little bit of a thing for eyeshadow palettes, and I had a few on my wishlist on the MUR website, so I thought, why the heck not grab a couple of them while I'm there? Ah who am I kidding? I bought a few and I did buy a couple of other bits too while there.
I did, 1 night, put everything in my basket (as you do) and it came to over £180. OUCH!!! I know, insane isn't it? Bad Make up Revolution for having so many pretty things on their website.
Anyway, here are the pretties that I allowed myself to buy and yes, I still have alot on my wishlist :(

Have you bought anything from Revolution? Are there any pretties that you think I would like? I hope it isn't just me that is a little bit addicted to make up though and you have a little bit of a thing for MUR.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Battle of the Dupes Feat MUA

Well hello my lovelies, how are you?
I hope you are all keeping well

Well, what do you know?
It is that time again where I put a sexy little palette from a budget brand up against the might of Urban Decays Naked 2 palette. I think today, it has to be from MUA (Make up Academy) with undressed too available here for £4.
I have to say that I am a tad biased on the undressed too palette as I have repurchased this a number of times though I won't let that cloud my judgement on the comparability to the other palettes in the battle.
If you would like to see what I thought of the previous palette, W7 In the Buff, you can see that here
The original Undressed palette won in the battle for the title of queen of UD Naked dupe, can it win again? We shall see. So, without further ado, I will start with what I think.

Dupability: For me, this doesn't even come close to being a great dupe as the majority of the shadows don't even come close to being the same shade as the UD Naked 2. They do look very similar in the pan but when you swatch & wear them, not even close. Having said that, I do like this as a stand alone palette and can come up with some beautiful looks with it. 2/5

Formula: I love the formula of the shadows, they are so soft and buttery, giving the impression of almost being a cream. I love these. 4.5/5

Pigmentation: The pigmentation compared to the UD palette it just does not even come close but as a stand alone palette, it is pretty damn good, especially for the price point. There are some that I had to really work at but they are buildable. 2.5

Wear-time: These shadows did last over 4 hours without a primer and over 6 with my UD primer. I am impressed. 3/5

Ease of purchase: This little beauty is readily available in Superdrug and online. Impressed much. 5/5

Packaging: I quite like the simplicity of the packaging, it is crisp, clean and sturdy. I do prefer the circular eyeshadows compared to the other palettes in the battles. All in all, not too bad. 4/5

Value: For £4, you really can't go wrong with Undressed too and with 12 eyeshadows, it makes each shadow just 34p each, now who can complain about that? It's a cracking little palette with such versatility and small enough for travel. Happy days. 5/5

Quality: For me, this little baby is amazing quality and would recommend it to anyone though I will knock 1 point off for having to repurchase it at least 3 times in 1 year. 4/5

Overall score:  If I didn't know the price point of this palette, I would have expected it to cost more and I also know for a fact, that this is a much better palette than the much more expensive New Cid Palette I have had and reviewed here.  30 /40

I think MUA do brilliantly with their palettes and would definately say try them out, especially if you are on a budget as the value on them is second to none and MUA do very well with their make up overall. A lovely budget brand that I have a great many of their make up items that I repurchase all the time and look forward to when they bring out new lines.
Have you tried MUA? What are your thoughts?

For the next battle of the UD Naked 2 dupes it is the turn of Make up Revolution. Can they beat MUA? They were literally 0.5 of a point behind MUA, have Revolution upped their game? We shall see in the next instalment of Battle of the dupes.

It is that time where I say goodbye, just remember that life is short, enjoy it and love one another.

Until the next time,
